Via Grain Design, a wall sized version of their Bound hand mirror with edges wrapped in hemp twine. Like the hand mirror Bound is made from waterjet cut salvaged mirror but, unlike the handheld version, is backed in laser cut bamboo and felt.

Heartbeat Japan is a very special fund raiser to aid disaster recovery in Japan.

Sasaki, an artist who specializes in meaningful work from heartbeats, will produce a very unique artwork in the Materials & Applications’ courtyard.

In addition Dublab will bring the beats of a musical variety, Lagunitas brewery and Izze soda are providing drinks and best of all Chisai Catering Project has created a unique japanese / polish bento menu.

100% of donations will go directly to Architecture for Humanity.

Neighborhoods Go Green Scaling up Sustainability

The U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) “Neighborhoods Go Green! Scaling up Sustainability” exhibit opened in Washington, DC.

A critical element of the exhibit is the Washington Region Challenge, which aims to spark conversation among local stakeholders and ideally result in local governments encouraging LEED-ND projects in heir communities. The goal of the Chicago Challenge was to have one LEED for Neighborhood Development project in each county in the state and for the Chicago region’s agencies to use LEED-ND for future redevelopment projects.

    Pick Me Up 2011

    The second edition of Pick Me Up, the UK’s first contemporary graphic art fair, will take place in the Embankment Galleries until March 27 for a celebration of graphic art.

    The best, most innovative and avant-garde graphic artists, collectives and galleries from the UK and across the world are exhibiting and offering an exuberant mix of artworks for sale.

    Somerset House is once again a platform for the graphic art and design community and a great place to experience first hand the energy and excitement of the graphic art scene.

    A lively programme of events and activities accompanies the fair, including an open studio from designer Anthony Burrill.
