Via Grain Design, a wall sized version of their Bound hand mirror with edges wrapped in hemp twine. Like the hand mirror Bound is made from waterjet cut salvaged mirror but, unlike the handheld version, is backed in laser cut bamboo and felt.

April 2011 Salone del Mobile time. Milan becomes the world design centre one again thanks to its exhibition, districts, its circuits and its routes full of initiatives and turmoil.
The Brera area stands out as one of the most vital and interesting centres of the Milan panorama thanks to the many galleries and numerous showrooms that enliven its streets.
It’s good to see that the Mattel Hot Wheels brand is experimenting more and more in guerrilla style stunts globally. With such a fun brand the potential for creative expression is endless.
Ogilvy agency & Mather Bogota have been approached to create some unique campaigns for the brand as they are now marketing Hot Wheels to a much more older demographic.
The Ogilvy agency & Mather Bogota had the idea to create an optical illusion. By imagining a false loop, the motorway gives the illusion to be part of a circuit, bringing a little imagination in the landscape.

Model Citizens NYC 2011 is a 3 day exhibition, open to the public, featuring the work of 50+ designers.
IKEA has released its 2010 Sustainability Report, which recaps and highlights its sustainable progress, accomplishments and new opportunities in the areas of social and environmental responsibility.
The report describes the priorities for 2015 that influence the entire value chain from product design and development to the very end of a product’s life as outlined in the new IKEA Sustainability direction.
Artist Paulius Nosokas went out and bought a number of hand-held light fixtures in a variety of wattages and configurations: fluorescent, incandescent, large, small, flashlights, “to discover what might unexpectedly be revealed as my solitary performance with these fixtures was frozen in stop-motion image.”
A precisely machined chair that lets “the sensuality of the wood material – from oak to maple to ash – express itself” is one of the many objects that the Bouroullec brothers will be presenting at Milan Design Week this year.
The front and seat are upholstered in soft aged leather and the bulk of the body is encased in Spitfire-esque polished aluminum. It’s the only piece of furniture we don’t mind that we have to buff.
